Governmental Affairs Committee

The Governmental Affairs Committee provides insight and review on legislative issues of importance to small business in North Brevard. When the Chamber is asked to take a position on an issue or project, the Governmental Affairs Committee does the initial review of the request and makes recommendation to the Chamber Board.
Additionally, the committee conducts an annual survey and develops the Chamber’s Legislative Agenda, which is then reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors. The Legislative Agenda is then forwarded to our local, state and federal delegation members, as well as other key offices.
Making sure the voice of business is heard is never more important than during elections. The Governmental Affairs Committee will conduct interviews with candidates and organize meet and greets for the general public, to make sure that candidates are aware of the issues facing small businesses and that the public knows which candidates are supportive of economic growth and increased vitality within our community.
