2015-2016 Outstanding Young Adults

Outstanding Young Adults are Titusville students, recognized for their performance in the areas of academics, leadership, extracurricular activities, sports, service club participation and volunteer work. Six seniors from Astronaut High School, Space Coast Junior/Senior High School and Titusville High School receive a certificate of recognition. One of the 18 students will receive a $1,000 scholarship toward college expenses.

Allison comes with a 4.02 weighted and 3.78 unweighted GPA. She has been a member of the National Junior Honor Society for 2 yeas and National Honor Society for 3 years. Allison has been Historian of the BETA Club for 2 years and secretary to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for a year.

Here athletic activities include 5 years of cheerleading, serving as captain for 1 year. She has won the Best Character Award for 3 years for “Viper Pride.”

Allison has had perfect attendance since 2008 and last year received the Harry Wong leadership award for the entire school.

She has been employed by East Coast Christian Center for 4 years and is earning her hours for Bright Futures.

Danielle brings a 4.13 weighted GPA and a 3.79 unweighted. She is currently Class President and has been a member of student government since 2012. she has participated in the National Honor Society, German Honor Society, Anchor club and is currently Secretary for the Health Occupations Students of America and Senior Class President.

Danielle has participated in JV Soccer, Powder Puff Football and is the RightSide Hitter Captain for the Varsity Volleyball team.

She is ranked 13th in her class of graduating seniors and is dual enrolled at EFSC on the Dean and President’s list.

Salud comes with a 4.46 weighted and 4.0 unweighted GPA. He is President of his class. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Student Advisory Council, Beta Club vice president, Drama Club treasurer and treasurer of troupe 6470.

Salud received a varsity letter for tennis in his freshman year and has been involved in with the theater since 9th grade.

He is an AP scholar with distinction, has won the Principal Platinum Award 5 times, best supporting actor in 2014 and 2nd place in Chemistry at the regional Science Fair.

Cassidy comes with a 3.88 weighted and 3.55 unweighted GPA. She has been a member of the National Junior Honor Society for 3 years and National Honor Society for 3 years. She has served as class president for 2 years and is currently her class representative. Allison has been a member of BETA and Future Educators Association for 3 years. She was chosen student of the year 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.

She has been recognized by the Academy of Teacher Eeducation and Public Service a student of the year and asked to speak at a Delta Kappa Gamma event.

Her community involvement includes: relay for life, volunteering at the Titusville Playhouse and Brevard Zoo, and working with Blessed Sacrament Church.

Preston brings a 4.0 weighted GPA and a 3.60 unweighted. He is currently Student Body President and has been a member of student government for 4 years. He is a member in the National Honor Society, Vice President of the German Club, Model Student Senate; History Honors Society and attended the American Legion Boys State Program.

Preston has participated in working on the year book and is an aide in the front office. He is a 4 year letterman in tennis and captain in his senior year. He lettered in golf for 2 years. Preston has received the War Eagle Award in golf and rookie of the year in tennis.

Haley proudly brings a 4.39 weighted GPA and 4.0 unweighted. She has been an active participant of Student Senate since 2012. Her club membership includes: Spanish Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, HOSA, 3 years in National Honor Society and 4 years in the Spanish Club.

Haley has participated in Girls Cross Country 2012-2016, Girls Track & Field 2012-2016, is a member of the chorus and received the Rotary Youth Leadership Award in 2015. She is a church counselor, works with the Parrish Medical Center Auxillary and North Brevard Sharing Charities.

Delaina proudly brings a 4.31 weighted GPA and 4.0 unweighted. She has been class representative for all 4 years at THS. She was inducted into the National Honor Society as a sphomore, and also participates in Interact, Key club, Mu Alpha Theta as well as acting a President of “Best Buddies.”

Delaina has remained on the Dean’s List at EFSC for the last 2 years and was selectected by the sophomore class for the Homecoming Court. She is the only student to ever receive the Lakaszcyck Memorial Community Service Award for 2 years. In July, 2015, Delaina went to Indiana as a delegate to International Convention of Best Buddies.

She shows fearless determination to design and market her fashion concepts.

Cassidy comes with a 3.31 weighted and 3.14 unweighted GPA. She is completing honors classes in Physics, English, Mathematics and history and is enrolled in an AP course. Catherine is the founding member of the A.T.E.P.S Academy of Teacher and Public Service student council. She has participated in the French Club, Florida Educators Association and held the position of secretary for the Drama Club. She has been involved with Chorale, Music Performance Assessment and the School Theatre.

Her community involvement includes: service hours for Congressman Bill Posey, Feed and Read Summer Program and she has interned with high school and elementary teachers. Catherine has participated in Relay for Life and is currently employed by Sonny’s BBQ.

Shreya proudly brings a 4.38 weighted GPA and 3.95 unweighted. She has been an active student government member since 2012, acting as National Honor Society President in 2015-2016. Some of her other club involvements include: Spanish Honor Society, current President of HOSA, current Secretary of Future Educations of America and Science Research member since 2012.

Shreya has played on the Varsity Basketball team for 4 years and earned the Athletic Director’s Scholar Athlete Award. Her many awards are varied and impressive, including US Surgeon General’s Health Science Award, bronze medal in Genius Science Olympiad. She is an intern at UCF at the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences.

Brooke brings a 4.17 weighted GPA and a 3.75 unweighted. She has been a member of student government for 4 years. This year, she holds the position of recording secretary for the 2015-16 school year. She is a member in the National Honor Society and has been a member of the Advanced Placement Academy since 2012.

Brooke has been a cheerleader for Astronaut for 4 years, serving her junior and senior years as head captain. In addition to her service at Parrish Medical Center, the SPCA and Park Avenue Christian Church, she was recognized as “Volunteer of the Year” for Oak Park Elementary School.

Breanna has played on the Varsity Basketball team for 3 years and earned the position of Captain for her senior year. Her awards include Most Improved and Coaches Award in volleyball. In her freshman year, she participated in marching band.

Breanna has been an assistant coach at Jackson Middle School for the track team and is currently employed by Sears.

LeAnn brings a 4.13 weighted GPA and a 3.71 unweighted. She has been a member of student government since freshman year. She is a member in the National Honor Society and has been a member of the Health Occupation Students of America for four years. LeAnn also participates in Biology Honor Society, German club and Phi Theta Kappa at Eastern Florida State College.

LeAnn has been a cheerleader and a member of the Softball, Track and Field and Cross Country teams. She has received superior ratings for music performance assessment. She has been on the dean’s list at EFSC and the President’s list twice.
