LAUNCH YOUR ADVENTURE

Nature

Launch your adventure from land or by water in Titusville, Florida.

A sea turtle on the beach

Hiking, biking, paddling, fishing…we enjoy a wide variety of outdoor adventure opportunities.  Get up close and personal with flora and fauna in our abundant collection of wide open spaces.

Who says there are no seasons in Florida?  Although we have lots of sunshine, we are fortunate to have a variety of seasonal activities courtesy of Mother Nature—from wildflower blooms on the St. Johns River, to sea turtle nesting, to bioluminescence in our lagoon.  And because of our amazing weather, we are home to a lot of outdoor festivals and events.  Who wouldn’t want to be outside in this paradise?

Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is more than 140,000 acres but there are some favorite places to visit, including Blackpoint Wildlife Drive.  North, south, east and west of Titusville, there are stops on Florida’s Great Birding & Wildlife Trail.

Playalinda Beach is part of the Canaveral National Seashore, and one of America’s most beautiful beaches.  Thaw out in the sun along the 24 miles of undeveloped, natural shoreline. Participate in a nighttime sea turtle hike to see mama lay her eggs, or catch the new born hatchlings rushing to the sea in the dawn of early morning.

Stops 1-10 are open. Stops 2, 3, 8 & 10 are wheelchair accessible. Playalinda Beach is often named as one of the most natural and beautiful beaches on the East Coast, miles of shoreline for walking, fishing, and enjoying the lapping waves. This is part of Canaveral National Seashore and there is a small fee to enter. Some areas may be closed for repair. Always check before you go. For the latest updates, go to nps.gov/cana or call 386-428-3384.

While you are exploring, don’t forget the rewards of nature… amazing fresh food (including some of the best seafood you can find).

May we offer some suggestions…

  • Fish the flats of the Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon.  We aren’t called the Redfish Capital of the World for nothing.
  • Paddle morning, noon or night in the lagoon or St. Johns River.  If you don’t have a kayak, don’t worry…we’ve got you covered. BK Adventures will take good care of you.
  • Feel the need for speed?  Airboats can satisfy that thrill for adventure, and we know just who to call – A St. Johns River Airboat Tour, Airboat Rides At Midway.
  • We have a self-guided Wildlife Adventure map just for you.  It highlights some of the most well-known and favorite places to find nature.
