It’s Only Natural – More Sea Turtle Walks
May 16, 2022 – There is something magical about walking on the beach at night, with the cool breezes and sounds of the surf mixing with a little moonlight. That’s a pretty sublime experience by itself, but add in a treasure hunt where the prize is watching a mama sea turtle laying her eggs and you have something really special.
We’ve told you about some of the groups that hosts these walks here, and we found another one that takes tours to Playalinda Beach. This beach is pristine and secluded, far away from the lights and noise of beaches closer to cities. The walk might even be a little spooky if you didn’t have a tour guide who knows all about the area, like a park ranger. You’re in luck. The rangers at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge are taking reservations for walks on Wednesday nights all through June, from 8 pm to 12 am. Here’s the link to find out more and sign up. Don’t wait too long. These types of adventures tend to fill up fast.
