Education Committee Update – February 2018

At the February 9, 2018 meeting, the Education Committee discussed:

1. The February 14th Partners in the Business of Education awards ceremony.  Businesses nominated by North Brevard schools for their contributions during the school year received a certificate of appreciation and were congratulated by Chamber Board Chairman Robert Jordan and Brevard Public Schools Deputy Superintendent Mark Mullins.
2. The photo frames displaying six Outstanding Young Adults per school, have been given to the three area high schools and the Titusville and Port St. John locations of Community Credit Union.  The frames will remain in the schools until the 2018-19 OYAs are announced.
3. A tentative date for College Night is September 24, 2018 at Searstown Mall.  North Brevard students will have an opportunity to meet with college representative to discuss campus life, curriculum and career planning.

The next Education Committee meeting will be held on March 9, 2018 in the Chamber Boardroom.
