Education Committee Update – June 2015

The Education Committee met on May 8th. At this final meeting of the school year, the committee acknowledged Community Credit Union and Jess Parrish Medical Foundation for sponsoring the Outstanding Young Adult (OYA) Program. The annual OYA scholarship was awarded to Dylan Bietel of Titusville High School. He accepted the $1000 stipend at the May Chamber luncheon.

The Passport to Discovery program was a success this year. At the request of several participating schools, the committee decided to extend the program so that students may continue exploring the Titusville area through the end of the school year.

Finally, planning has begun for the November 5th Career Fair at Eastern Florida State College.

The Education Committee meets on the second Friday of the month, during the school year. The next meeting will be held on September 11th at 8:30 am in the Chamber Boardroom.
