Governmental Affairs Update – April 2016
JB Kump a member of Business Voice told the committee that that group will begin interviewing candidates for offices above the municipal level. The same questions will be asked of all candidates running for the same office. Membership in that group is still open and there are three levels of membership which allows businesses of all sizes to participate. Kathryn Rudloff will speak to the committee at our July 21st meeting. Anyone is welcome to attend. We discussed the need for improvements to all of Florida’s waterways. There is a substantial impact on the state’s economy by many who depend upon the waterways for their livelihood. The trails project is coming together and a ribbon cutting for the pedestrian bridge is being scheduled for May. We look forward to the welcome center being open by the end of the year. It was noted that the new Titusville Talking points is available on line. We are in the process of scheduling a candidate meet and greet for early August. It will be open to the general public at no charge. Everyone was reminded that in lieu of our May meeting, we will be having a legislative update on May 19th at La Cita. Tom Feeney of AIF will update us on recent Legislative actions.
