Governmental Affairs Update – January 2015

As we bring in the year 2015, we look back on what the Governmental Affairs Committee of the Titusville Area Chamber of Commerce has done.

Over the past year, this committee has worked hard to bring issues and information to all our members concerning what is happening at the local, county, state and federal levels. This culminated with our Legislative Priorities which, you and all our members were asked to participate in formulating. This annual process lets you share with your elected officials exactly what you feel is important for them to consider. The process included a survey sent to all our members and was approved by our Board of Directors before being sent.

We facilitated a breakfast that introduced the new Titusville City Manager to our membership. Our pre-election table top brought candidates into town from US Congressional Representative candidates to judicial hopefuls to city council candidates.

Members of this committee represent diverse political opinions as well as those of the educational system, to our real estate marketers as well as other business professionals in the chamber. All are welcome to join us as we begin another year on the third Thursday of each month, the first date being January 15th, 2015 here at the chamber office at 8 am. We look forward to your joining us as we begin 2015 and set next year’s course toward an informed and involved membership.
