Governmental Affairs Update – March 2016

Citizens for Space, a self- funded trip to Washington is May 24-26th. There is a small scholarship available to encourage people to attend. Lockheed Martin, who provided the scholarship would like to see more students attend. Business Voice is working to interview candidate before making their endorsements. Our Legislative Breakfast is scheduled for May 19th. Tom Feeney of Associated Industries will speak. Leigh Holt from TPO was our speaker. She shared the many things that are happening in Titusville from the Hopkins complete streets plan to the bike paths and our participation in the coast to coast loop. There are proposals for Garden Street in addition to the new bike/pedestrian bridge. The city is also looking into plans for amazing urban loops within the city. Our local Realtor Association is looking to start interviewing candidates prior to their endorsements. We were reminded that John Murray Port CEO will be our April luncheon speaker and Frank Di Bello, Space Florida is our June luncheon Speakers.
