CALLING ALL ASTRONAUT WANNABEES

March 1, 2020 – Applicants interested in flying to the International Space Station (or maybe to the Moon) better hurry to get their resumes together. The window of opportunity in 2020 is March 3-31.

• Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must hold a Master’s Degree in a STEM field: engineering, biological science, physical science, computer science or mathematics or have two years into a doctorate program in a STEM filed, completed a medical doctor or osteopathic medicine degree, or have completed a test pilot school program
• Must have two years of related progressively responsible professional experience or at least 1,000 hours of pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft
• Must be able to pass NASA’s long-duration physical

What? That list probably leaves most of us out—at least for this year’s application.

However, up and comers in STEM-related studies have some interesting career choices to consider. There are currently 48 in the astronaut corp—an elite group of men and women.

And what better place to grow up than here in the heart of space launch and aerospace science, technology, advanced manufacturing and flight. KEEP LOOKING UP!
