Veterans Day Sees Two Record-Breaking Space Launches
November 12, 2024 – What a great way to celebrate Veteran’s Day. Launch watchers around the Titusville area had to be pleased with not one, but two opportunities to watch blast offs from across the water.
The first launch at 12;22 p.m. broke the record as the 77th orbital launch during a single calendar year and the second launch quickly entered the history books by becoming the 78th on the list at 4:29 p.m.
Both missions flew on Falcon 9 rockets from SpaceX. The first launch boosted the Koreasat-6A mission, with the second delivering satellites as part of Starlink 6-69.
And according to the schedule there should be plenty of reasons to keep looking up, as the company plans to send up 30 more rockets before the end of the year. That works out to about a launch every two days. It should be a happy holiday season for our friends who love the excitement of seeing these space vehicles roar into the sky.
