One of 1st Space Force JR ROTC Units Here

Space Force
It makes perfect sense that a Jr. and Sr. High School in Brevard County would be among the first in the nation to be a part of the inaugural cohort of high schools selected for the Space Force Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corps.  This is the Space Coast, after all.

Congratulations, Space Coast Jr/Sr High School in Port St. John, FL.

The purpose of the JROTC is “to instill in students in secondary educations institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, and personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment,” according to Title 10, Section 2031 of the United States code.

Considerations for unit selection included school proximity to Space bases, facilities, and centers of influence (e.g., NASA) or current Senior Aerospace Instructor (SASI) cadre with prior space operations experience.

Only 10 programs were selected.
