A Florida Trail Town

Titusville is the city where three major trail networks converge.

The Coast to Coast Trail is 250-miles long and will connect Playalinda Beach to St. Petersburg Beach (www.c2ctrail.com). The St. Johns River to Sea Loop (www.sjr2c.org) connects Titusville to St. Augustine on the north, stretches west to Palatka and then back around in a 260 mile loop. And finally, our trails connect to the East Coast Greenway, a 3000-mile stretch of trails connecting Maine to Key West (www.greenway.org).

The Power of Trails

Regional trails offer the opportunity for economic redevelopment and increased tourism, with the potential to draw cyclists, pedestrians, and equestrians and new residents into the area. The official designation as a Florida Trail Town is an economic plus, and invites investment in the area via local businesses and restaurants and other enterprises.

A family bikingThe City of Titusville has embraced the concept of redeveloping as a “Trail Town” and has continued to invest in trails, the Welcome Center and in marketing the trails. As the trail system continues to grow, it will connect into the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, known for its birding and wildlife, and the Canaveral National Seashore, home to an extensive sea turtle conservation program.

Multi-use trails provide families with the opportunity for recreation, increased mobility, and healthy lifestyle options. The Titusville area is gaining in reputation as a destination by offering a world-class attraction to families, cyclists, hikers and more.
