Brevard County — EDC

The Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast is an innovative, countywide, not-for-profit partnership between the Brevard County Commission and the Space Coast business community. Business leaders, chambers of commerce, local and state government leaders, and community organizations contribute to the overall mission of the EDC.

The EDC is dedicated to attracting new business and investment and expanding existing industry throughout the Space Coast, influencing change on government laws and regulations affecting economic development, promoting the Space Coast to encourage new investment, supporting efforts of Space Coast military installations, and relaying new programs and procedures to assist manufacturing and high tech companies.

The EDC guides its program of work within three primary strategic priorities:

Maintain a targeted industry focus – The EDC concentrates its business development efforts on five industries that serve as core drivers of the Space Coast economy: aerospace and aviation, advanced communications, electronics, homeland security and defense, and emerging technologies.
Advocate for a competitive business environment – The EDC pursues advocacy efforts based on their ability to achieve economic competitiveness.
Engage community leaders – The EDC educates volunteers, community leaders and elected officials on the Space Coast’s many competitive advantages, enabling these leaders to serve as economic development advocates throughout the community.

We will work to ensure all avenues to lower operating costs – including state and local incentives, grants and other support applicable – are known and applied for the benefit of new projects.

We can assist your company in finding and training employees by coordinating involvement with appropriate educational institutions and government entities.

Confidentiality
We understand that for any number of reasons the confidentiality of your information is important. Your project will be assigned a specific Project Manager with business expertise in your industry area as well as project code name and number that will be used throughout the investigation process.
