Find Tranquility on the Canaveral National Seashore

The calming crush of waves hitting the shore with the sweet smell the light saltwater breeze all on the largest uninhabited beach in all of Florida. This is what you will find at the Canaveral National Seashore, home to Playalinda Beach.

Taking a step back in time and relaxing in nature is what the seashore is all about. This 24-miles of undeveloped beach provides habitat for 15 threatened and endangered animal species, which ranks it second in the entire National Park Service. You will see an exceptional assortment of subtropical and temperate plants that you can find nowhere else except central Florida and many waterfowl and wading birds.

There are also three different sea turtle species that lay over 4000 nests on the beach each year. Right now, from April to October, you can see these creatures crawl ashore to nest on the beach. It takes approximately 60 days for their eggs to hatch where you will then see three-inch hatchlings emerging from the 18-inch deep nest all by themselves! As they make their way across the sand and past the surf, they swim into the Atlantic Ocean. You can also see Sea Turtles Hatch over the summer months! To make your reservation or for more questions call (386) 428-3384 ext. 223.

Wildlife is awesome, but we also have to remember, Space has an element on the Canaveral National Seashore too. At the northernmost end of the Kennedy Space Center is the Canaveral National Seashore. This means it is an excellent place to watch rocket launches!

There are so many ways to #LaunchFromHere and Canaveral National Seashore should definitely be on the top of your list.
