Photo Opportunities in North Brevard

Brevard County Florida is a wonderful place for folks who love taking photos! This article will focus on the north part of the county starting with perhaps the most obvious location – the beach!

Playalinda Beach is an incredible undeveloped seashore area. If you’re looking for a wonderful location for shooting portraits and don’t want crowds or condos in your shot, this is the place! A great time for photos is at sunrise. It’s not unusual to see dolphins, pelicans, or even sea turtles. It’s my go-to destination for out of town guests and it never disappoints.

– If you like birds, this is the place! Make sure to check out Blackpoint Wildlife Drive. There are plenty of spots to pull off the road, set up wildlife refugeyour camera, and take award-winning pictures.

If you can get there around sunrise, you’ll be rewarded with plenty of bird activity. I’ve met many wildlife photographers there and they are usually willing to share their knowledge of cameras, lenses, and of course, birds!

– This popular walking destination is a great place to capture beautiful photos. From this elevated vantage point, you can capture all sorts of activity on the Indian River such as dolphins, manatees, and sailboats. Sunrise is the best time for this especially if you want have the sun peaking over the VAB in the distance. This is also one of my favorite places to film rocket launches.

When the temperature gets chilly, you might capture a beautiful landscape scene with mist coming off the surface of the water with birds flying through your frame.

It’s another location that works well in the morning. Also, be sure to check out the observation tower for some nice panoramic shots.

enchanted forest

Enchanted Forest – This surprisingly diverse property gives plenty of photo ops. Sun shining through the many trees covered in Spanish Moss provides a very “Florida” looking photo. This is the place to bring out that macro lens you’ve been wanting to use as there is an abundance of plant life. My family never tires of visiting the shady trails at the Enchanted Forest.

This list could go on and on, but I suggest that you go beyond these ideas and create your own list of photo ops in north Brevard County!
