At Port Canaveral, Great Adventures Are Yours

Cruise the seas, enjoy the Victory.

Port Canaveral on Florida’s Space Coast is a must stop when you visit here.

Favorite activities include seeing the fishing boats go out (and come back in to unload catch), watching the birds eyeing dinner, and learning more about how fresh-caught seafood is handled and packaged for sale at Wild Ocean Seafood Market.

That stop along the docks is right in the heart of The Cove Dining District, so plan some time to put your feet up along dock edge and relax, select from multiple restaurants along the row and enjoy.

The Cove Dining District

Within steps of The Cove Dining District is Exploration Tower, multiple floors with information about the history of Port Canaveral. (Covid 19 protocols may still be impacting visits to every floor, see explorationtower.com for updates.)

At Exploration Tower you definitely do not want to miss the open-air 7th floor Observation Deck, where you can view activities across this working port and see down the channel to the ocean.  As the cruise ships start sailing again soon, the channel will be filled with the huge ships—an amazing place to hear the horns and see the ships escorted in or out of Port.

The Mardi Gras, even before it sails is going to be a site to see, with its red sea-going roller coaster, The Bolt, visible from shoreline.

While the cruise ships are ramping up schedules again, much is happening in Port. Carnival’s largest ship ever, the Mardi Gras is due to arrive at Port Canaveral on June 4.

This mega ship (1,130 feet long) boasts  21 decks and (5) themed entertainment zones, including Grand Central, a 3-deck atrium with high windows overlooking the sea. Mardi Gras is among the first LNG-powered (clean energy, liquid natural gas fueled) ships to be home ported in north America.

Victory Cruise Line

Want to get out on the sea for a day of fun right now? You can.

This is the perfect time to take advantage of the fun on a Victory Casino Cruise. It’s a great way to dip your toe into the cruise experience by sailing out and back into the port in the same day with five- and six-hour cruises.

Once you’re far enough out to sea, you can partake in games of chance, with 600 slot machines and 27 casino games available, including Florida’s only live roulette and live craps tables. The Sportsbook Lounge will take bets on basketball, football, baseball, soccer, boxing, MMA, hockey, and more.

Or enjoy the food, buffet dining and drinks on all four decks, soak in the sun from a deck chair, or take in the entertainment at Big Norm’s Club V, where free shows and a dance floor welcome parties of all sizes.

Victory Casino Cruises sail twice a day Wednesdays through Sundays.

Jetty Park
Wild sea oats help maintain the beautiful dunes at Jetty Park.

And if you have time before or after a cruise, you can hit the beach at nearby Jetty Park, which also offers a beautiful campground for RVs, tents and rental cabins. But you don’t have to camp to visit the park, which is open to the public (entrance fee at the gate) from 7 am to 9 pm.

Here you can swim in the ocean, take a walk out on the pier, watch the big ships sail in and out of the port, look up at a rocket launch or just check out the wildlife, marine life and your fellow tourists as they bury themselves in the sand. Learn more here.

It’s time to get out and have some fun and Port Canaveral is a great place to start.
