Artemis Launch May Bring 100K Visitors

The highly anticipated NASA Artemis 1 launch to the moon is scheduled for Monday, August 29, 2022, with a launch window opening at 8:33 AM. Titusville Police want to advise motorists to slow down in launch viewing areas, especially on U.S.#1, State Road 406 along the A. Max Brewer Bridge, and all surrounding areas.

Note: Launches are highly technical endeavors and sometimes a launch may be delayed or even postponed to another day. Be sure and keep updated on any changes in the schedule.

All lanes on the A. Max Brewer Bridge will be closed immediately after launch for approximately 1 hour, allowing for pedestrian traffic to cross over safely. Additionally, please refer to real-time updates on social media @TitusvillePD, TitusvilleFLPD, TitusvillePD.org, and Titusville_PD for the latest information on a potential bridge closing to motor vehicle traffic BEFORE the launch.

A MULTI-AGENCY traffic exit plan has been developed to help with a safe exit from the City of Titusville after the Artemis 1 launch, however, significant vehicle and pedestrian congestion delays should be expected.

All motorists north of Harrison Street will proceed northbound. All vehicles south of Harrison will proceed southbound. Motorists on State Road 406 (Garden Street) and on the A. Max Brewer Bridge and surrounding areas will proceed west.

Enjoy the launch and DRIVE SAFE TITUSVILLE!
