October 5, 2022 – Hurricane Ian caused a few delays in the rocket launch schedule, but now it’s time to once again “launch from here” as NASA and SpaceX and United Launch Alliance get ready to catch up on their flight schedules.

Launches are planned for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from pads at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and Kennedy Space Center.

United Launch Alliance will start the ball rolling on Tuesday by sending an Atlas V rocket to deliver two commercial communication satellites from Launch Complex 41. Blast off is set for 5:36 p.m.

Then at noon on Wednesday, SpaceX and NASA send Crew-5 to the International Space Station aboard a Crew Dragon.

The international crew consists of NASA astronauts Nicole Mann and Josh Cassada, JAXA’s (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) Koichi Wakata, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Anna Kikina.

It’s also a great opportunity to visit Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and get a good look at the event by purchasing one of the attraction’s special launch packages.

Of course, you’ll be able to see the spacecraft from many places in Titusville once it leaves the pad at Launch Complex 39A, but a visit to KSC Visitor Center is always a treat, and a launch viewing just makes it even better.

The third launch on this impressive docket is another SpaceX Falcon 9 set for next Monday, somewhere between 7 and 8 p.m. The spacecraft will deliver two communication satellites built by Northrop Grumman.

Look to the skies, folks. It’s going to be a busy week.
