Rising Star Award Program

The Rising Star Award program is sponsored by Community Credit Union and Jess Parrish Medical Foundation.  It seeks to celebrate North Brevard seniors who excel in academics, extracurricular activities and community service, and is open to Astronaut, Space Coast, and Titusville High Schools.  Students submit an application which is reviewed and independently evaluated by a volunteer committee of at least three members.  Scores are tabulated and a final meeting of the committee is held to select up to six students from each school.  In the spring, the selected students are asked to provide an essay and their submission, paired with their original application, is reviewed and one student is selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship.

The students are invited to attend one of the Chamber’s monthly luncheons with members of their family.  They are recognized during the event and receive a framed certificate as well as congratulatory letters from our local elected officials.
