Titusville Chamber Honors the 2016-2017 Outstanding Young Adults

The Outstanding Young Adult program is sponsored by Community Credit Union and Jess Parrish Medical Foundation. Each year 6 seniors from each Titusville area high school is awarded a certificate of accomplishment.  Those eighteen students then compete in an essay contest for a monetary prize to be used for educational purposes.

Space Coast High School - ArmstrongAlexis Armstrong – Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School
Alexis Armstrong has been a Student Government representative for 3 years.  She is active in various clubs; including; Future Educators of America, BETA, National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society.  Alexis is Captain of the swimming team receiving Most Improved Swimming and working as a lifeguard at Cocoa YMCA.  She also has a 4 year letter in varsity track.

benson_morganMorgan Benson – Titusville High School
Morgan Benson has been involved in Student Government since her freshman year and currently serves as Secretary.  Her club membership is vast: including National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Key Club and Bionic Tigers Robotics Team.  She is involved in cheerleading, competitive gymnastics and received the Scholar Athlete Award 2014, 2015, 2016.  Morgan is a violist and member of the Chamber Orchestra after serving in the Full Orchestra from 2013-2015.

 

bollinger_masonMason Bollinger – Titusville High School
Mason Bollinger has been a student government class representative for 3 years.  He is a member of Latin Club and Latin Honor Society and active member in HOSA.  Mason has been a Scholar Athlete in the following sports; JV and Varsity golf, Varsity letterman in baseball, (2 years as captain) and 2 years in basketball.  He participated in the Brevard County Film Festival and was one of twelve students to attend a Chamber of Commerce leadership lunch-in. He is active in the guidance office and participates in TPDs “Shop with a Cop” program.

 

Daniel Bowen – Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School
Daniel Bowen is involved in Student Government, holding the positions of Treasurer, Class Treasurer (2 years) and Secretary.  He is President of Mu Alpha Theta, VP of National Honor Society, Treasurer and Secretary of BETA Club and Senator in Model Student Senate.  Daniel has become an unofficial organizer for Viper Accelerated Program.  A few of his awards are; AP Scholar with Distinction 2016, Yale Science & Engineering – Most outstanding exhibit and is an Eagle Scout.

 

coachman_josephJoseph Coachman II – Titusville High School
Joseph Coachman II is sergeant at arms for the International Club, a member of the National Honor Society, Latin Club, Robotics Club and Best Buddies Club.   He was offensive line captain of the football team for 2 years and a member of marching band, Orchestra and chorus. Joseph spends 5-10 hours a week helping widows with yard work, maintenance and other jobs.   Besides the many other club involvements, he was awarded the Rotary Pin for Community Service for 2015 and 2016.

 

Erica Delhagen – Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School
Erica Delhagen has been a class representative, class historian and is currently senior class vice president.  Since 2014, she has been involved with the National Honor Society, Beta Club and Mu Alpha Theta. Erica’s sports activities include varsity basketball; she has been a varsity letterman for 4 years and earned the Viper Pride Award.  She is very involved in the Art program and has been recognized for numerous honors.

 

FLEMMING_HANNAHHannah Joy Flemming – Astronaut High School
Hannah Joy Flemming represents her Student Government at Astronaut.  She has participated in the national Honor Society, Latin Club and is a current member of the Biology Honor Society. Hannah is a 4 year Varsity runner; Captain in 11th and 12th grade for cross country, and qualified for State Championship.  She is also a 3 year runner in track.  She has participated in Chorus and Creative Photography.  Hannah is a competitive athlete that has received numerous awards, including 110% Award for AHS.

 

Dillon GravesDillon Graves – Titusville High School
Dillon Graves has been in student government for 2 years. Some of his numerous club affiliations are; German Club, German Club Honor Society, Math Club, National Honor Society President.  He belongs to Florida Technology Students Association. Dillon also serves as THS Marching Band Brass Captain, 1st Chair Tuba since 2014, and Brevard County Solo & Ensemble Superior Results since 2013.  He competes in Flying Model Sailplanes and has won world championships in many places around the world.

 

MARSH_BETHANYBethany Marsh – Astronaut High School
Bethany Marsh is involved in Student Government, Project 7 Christian Club, Drama Club, and Select 16 music ensemble at.  She has been President of the Christian Athlete Club for 4 years.  Bethany has been lead alto in chorus for 4 years, and was one of two AHS students chosen to sing at All State singer at Tampa Convention.  She has taught piano for 3 years.  She has received the Academic Scholar Award and the National Anthem octet award from NASA.

 


matteson_jessicaJessica Matteson – Titusville High School

Jessica Matteson has been in student government for 2 years. Her club affiliations are; Health Occupation Students of America, Latin Club, Mu Alpha Theta and 3 years in the National Honor Society. Jessica is a scholar athlete and has been on the varsity swim team since her freshman year, won the Swim Spirit Award, Psych Swim Award and is a State Qualifier every year. She is mentoring elementary and middle school student in robotics with STEM Outreach. Jessica is in the EFSC Honors Program, receiving an AA in high school with all A’s and has been on the President’s list for all terms.

 

Space Coast High School - McKelvinMichaela McKelvin – Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School
Michaela McKelvin is involved in Student Government, holding the positions of Senior Class Secretary for 2016-2017. She was just inducted into the National Honor Society. Michaela is the color guard captain for the marching band, and has been very active in the Drama Club.  She received an Avid Media Certification and will be going on a mission trip to Haiti during Spring Break.

 

Space Coast High School - MessickAliyah Messick – Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School
Aliyah Messick has been President of the speech and debate team for 2 years. She also participates on the Academic Team and Model Student Senate. She volunteers for the Relay for Life, Brevard Humane Society and has held many positions for the co-ed branch of the boy scouts called Venture Crew. Aliyah has received an AP Scholar Award and 1st place in speech and debate competition and currently works at Sears.

 

REEVES_TRACYTracy Reeves – Astronaut High School
Tracy Reeves has spent 4 years in Student Government, currently serving as sergeant of arms.  Her club affiliations include: National Honor Society, Biology Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, environmental Club and Mu Alpha Theta.  Tracy is active in the marching band, concert band, women’s choir and drama club. She participates in Respite Night at the Parrish Children’s Center.  She works at Publix and has received the City of Titusville Award as well as being on the President’s list for the last 2 years at EFSC.


rymkos_makaylaMakayla Rymkos – Astronaut High School

Makayla Rymkos has been a student body representative since her sophomore year. Her club involvements include; National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Spanish Club, Mu Alpha Theta and Student Government Associations. Makayla has been a cheerleader, participated in cross country and track and field and Girl Scouts of America, where she received Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.

 

STOKES_CHRISTINAChristina Stokes – Astronaut High School
Christina Stokes is involved in Student Government, National Honor Society, Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society and is the Environmental Club President.  She has been the captain of the Varsity Soccer Team for 4 years, participates in Varsity Swim Team and was MVP for the JV volleyball team.  Christina volunteers with special education children and works 21 hours a week during the school year.

 


STUBLI_SNOWFLAKESnowflake Stubli – Astronaut High School

Snowflake Stubli is currently President of the Drama Club and has been involved since 2013. She devotes numerous hours to managing, production and helping the main stage productions. Snowflake has been in chorus and was invited to participate in Disney’s Candlelight Vigil. She is involved with Arts and Algorithms as well as volunteering and assisting at the Titusville Playhouse. Snowflake was selected as a Florida representative for Heart of the Art award.

 

SWANSON_JOSHUAJoshua Swanson – Astronaut High School
Joshua Swanson has been involved in student government since 2014 and has been in the National Honor Society since 2015. He is also a member of the Marching Band. Joshua plays on the Varsity Tennis Team, plays Bari and Alto Saxophone for the concert band, Alto sax for the marching and jazz band. He is involved in many roles with the Boy Scouts of America and was awarded Outstanding Leadership Award.

 

 

Space Coast High School - WoltmanMikayla Woltman – Space Coast Senior High
Mikayla Woltman has been involved in: Mu Alph a Theta (vice president), National Honor Society, Beta Club and National Junior Honor Society. She plays clarinet for marching band, concert band and was chosen for all-county band. She is a member of the Viper Accelerated Program and is a Cadet Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.
