HISTORY OF THE RIDE

RIDE IT DOWN is an annual cycling event in Titusville, on Florida’s famed Space Coast. RIDE IT DOWN invites locals, families and visitors to the area to join us on our trails. RIDE IT DOWN also enjoys participation from representatives of some of our most active cycle trail supporter organizations across Florida and the U.S.

2018

THE FIRST RIDE IT DOWN was in 2018 and indeed attracted riders from across the U.S.  The ride also celebrated Titusville being designated an official Florida Trail Town.  See the HIGHLIGHTS here:

2019

In 2019, RIDE IT DOWN was presented in conjunction with the Florida Scrub Jay Festival, which occurs every 4 years.

Ride routes varied in length as before, encouraging every one, every family, every skill level to pick a route, and participate.

Comfort stops were a highlight, for refreshments and hydration along with many surprises from comfort station sponsors. Followed by music, food and lots of information about the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Florida Scrub Jays provided post ride fun in our downtown.

2020

RIDE IT DOWN March 21 was necessarily postponed due to the pandemic but re-invented as a evening event–a  HOLIDAY CELEBRATION RIDE. Attendees were invited to LIGHT UP YOUR BAKE and GET YOUR HOIDAY VIBE ON!

 

 

2022

Ride It Down February 26, 2022. It was a fun event. Hear from people who rode this year’s RIDE IT DOWN. In 2022, it wa all about BANDS, BIKES & BREWS with music at the comfort stops.

At the end of the ride, there was MORE MUSIC, FOOD TRUCKS and BREWS from Playalinda Brewing Co. including a specially created Ride It Down Root Beer Float alternative for the kids and kids at heart.

2023

 

 

This annual event is a favorite for cyclists in Titusville, but it also attracts enthusiasts from all over.  With the great trails around the city for bikers and walkers, it’s easy to see why.

Past RIDE IT DOWN events have attracted a big crowd of happy cyclers, from close by and from places around the U.S.–2019 clocked over 500 riders!

Biking our trails is a welcome outdoor adventure, any time of the year, but if you are stuck in the snow and ice and need to THAW OUT, you can’t beat this bit of good fun in the sunshine of Florida.
